WhatsApp has been working on a number of new features of the messaging platform to improve security and user experience. Currently, the company is testing a longer expiration option for the message loss feature introduced at the end of last year. According to reports, WhatsApp could allow users to set a 90-day time limit before the message disappears in the next few days.
Now, for those who don’t know, WhatsApp introduced a disappearing message feature in November 2020, joining competitors such as Telegram and Signal. Currently, this feature allows users to send messages that disappear after 7 days. Also, the disappearing message settings page has no options other than the “on” and “off” buttons. The automatic deletion period cannot be changed yet.
