WhatsApp Beta for Android Get New Color, Shared Sheet Icon

After testing new payment shortcuts, a new 90-day option to hide messages, and improving voice and video calling capabilities, WhatsApp has begun beta testing of new design elements for the app on Android. This includes new colors, icons, and some quality of life changes.

With this update, the app has added slightly different colors to the chat screen, status bar, chat bubbles and background in both light and dark themes. In addition, WhatsApp now displays “Messages” to users instead of the “Enter Message” placeholder in the text field.

The new color looks brighter than the old one. They are most noticeable on the chat screen. WhatsApp has added a bright green color to the chat bubble. Besides this, dark themes now make the background wallpaper and message box colors appear darker than before.
