According to Geekbench’s list, the codename for Snapdragon 898 is expected to be “taro”. The list is based on the Vivo prototype phone with model number vivo V2102A. This may indicate that you can expect at least one Vivo flagship with the Snapdragon 898 right after the chipset goes on sale. For this test device, the Snapdragon 898 CPU configuration is: Single 2.42GHz Cortex X2 core, 3 x 2.17GHz Cortex-A710 core, and 4 x 1.79GHz Cortex-A510 core. However, we already know from previous leaks that the X2 core can reach 3.09GHz. The numbers on this particular Geekbench list need to be captured in a single salt, as the X2 core is 16% faster than the Cortex X1 core, which can reach up to 2.995 GHz on the Snapdragon 888 +.

Another tip we know about the SD 898 is to use Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process. It will also feature an Adreno 730 GPU and a Snapdragon X655G modem. Stay tuned for updates as we’ll know more when Qualcomm announces the chipset later this year.
