Samsung is ready to unveil next-generation foldable devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 later today, but OnePlus wants to get consumer attention. That’s why, prior to Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, OnePlus shared a short teaser to showcase some sort of dual-screen foldable smartphone.

The Chinese giant used Instagram to share short teaser videos on dual-screen smartphones. The video isn’t clear, but it shows a dual-screen foldable device standing on a flat surface. Please see the teaser attached just below.

Surprisingly, the device unveiled by OnePlus in the video has a galactic wallpaper that could be a direct jab in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy foldable. What’s more, the device looks more like a dual-screen smartphone than a foldable device.

The device teased by OnePlus resembles LG’s view of foldable smartphones. Instead of the actual foldable display, additional add-on displays such as the LG G8X TinQ and LG Velvet are supported. So if OnePlus is teasing a similar device, it’s nothing new to see.

In addition, at the end of the video, OnePlus also shared a date (8.11.21) pointing to August 11, 2021. Therefore, the company plans to unveil dual-screen devices later today. It’s pretty neat marketing from OnePlus. But are we surprised or disappointed? What do you think of the OnePlus foldable device? Do you think it will be comparable to modern foldable devices? Please let us know in the comments below.
