Last week, OnePlus noticed that it was slowing down the performance of many popular apps in the OnePlus 9 series. Shortly thereafter, the company acknowledged that was the case and claimed that it was to optimize device performance. However, considering voice feedback and backlash, OnePlus is currently planning to add an option that allows users to turn off this optimized mode on the Oxygen OS.
Disable throttling on OnePlus phones
Talk to Android police, OnePlus unveiled plans to add mode toggles optimized for OxygenOS 12.. Apparently, this toggle is unlikely to arrive with a software update for OxygenOS 11. As a result, affected OnePlus phone owners like the OnePlus 9 Series will have to wait months to reach their full potential.
In fact, the company has confirmed that these optimizations also exist in the OnePlus 9R and the newly launched Nord2. “We have implemented performance optimizations to varying degrees on the OnePlus 9R and Nord2 because different chips have different performances and we want to ensure the best performance and efficiency from each.” OnePlus told the Android police.
“But with clear feedback from users and the media, our R & D team is now an option that allows users to turn this optimized mode on and off for better control over phone performance. We are working on adding this solution with the goal of preparing this solution with one of the first builds of the OxygenOS 12 inch. OnePlus said.
Details of this future toggle remain unknown for now.We have to wait and see If this option becomes part of the setup process Or if the user needs to switch manually from the settings. It will be updated when OnePlus adds this toggle to OxygenOS 12, so stay tuned for future updates.
