
Xiaomi is working on a new MIUI feature aimed at reducing the installation of malicious apps on mobile phones. This feature, called MIUI Pure Mode, blocks the installation of unknown apps Strengthen user security.

According to Xiaomi, nearly 40% of apps installed on phones running MIUI have never passed a company security audit. In addition, nearly 10% of these apps are considered malicious. To prevent unsuspecting users from installing apps that could compromise privacy and security, Xiaomi is currently testing pure mode with MIUI 12.5.
Pure mode is a future installation mode. User does not have the option to sideload the app.. This helps prevent malicious app installations from crude third-party sources. However, the company makes it clear that it does not force everyone to use pure mode. Therefore, if you think you are a power user who often sideloads your app, you can choose to turn off pure mode.

If this feature turns out to be an immediate hit among early adopters, we can expect future updates in stable versions to ship in pure mode.
