This year we saw the company announce several Dimensity chipsets, including the flagship Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 900 chipsets. MediaTek has announced a new Kompanio 1300T chipset that will power future tablets and Chromebook devices.
Taiwanese chipmakers have announced the Kompanio 1300T chipset through an official press release. According to PC Tseng, General Manager of MediaTek’s Intelligent Multimedia Business Unit, the Kompanio chip allows OEMs to design lightweight yet powerful tablets and personal computing devices. “Robust performance and long battery life provide users with innovative features and a new mobile computing experience.”
MediaTek Kompanio 1300T: Main specifications and functions
The Kompanio 1300T chipset is based on TSMC’s 6nm architecture and features an octa-core CPU with a high-performance ARM Cortex-A78 core and a power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 core. The chipset integrates a 9-core ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, supporting high frame rates for a smoother gaming experience. In addition, the Kompanio 1300T SoC also includes the company’s AI processing unit (APU), which provides advanced AI computing power to support the latest voice and visual applications.
When it comes to multimedia features, the Kompanio 1300T can support multi-scene HDR10 + and AI image quality technology. It also supports 4K HDR video recording and comes with the latest imaging, decoding, encoding and playback features to support 4K video features. It also provides chip-level eye protection for filtering blue light and supports 2.5K displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz. The chip also supports cameras up to 108MP.
In addition to these, the Kompanio 1300T also comes with an enhanced color display, professional imaging technology for high-end camera setups, intelligent voice recognition capabilities, an enhanced gaming experience, and support for fast connectivity. In addition, the SoC supports 5G connectivity, giving tablets full support below 6GHz.
When it comes to availability, MediaTek says consumers can expect Kompanio 1300T tablet and Chromebook It will be available in the third quarter of 2021.
