The Government of India has taken another round to ban apps in India. Two years after banning more than 200 Chinese apps in India, we are currently banning 54 apps due to security and privacy issues. The list of banned apps includes popular apps such as Garena Free Fire and Beauty Camera: Sweet Selfie. Let’s take a look at the list.

List of 54 apps banned in India in 2022

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has suggested that the app is banned in India, alleging that the app sent user data to countries such as China, causing privacy breaches.

This will enable the collection, matching, analysis and profiling of vast amounts of personal data by elements that are hostile to India’s sovereignty and integrity and that engage in detrimental activities to national security.“”

This list confirms the ban on Garena Free Fire, which was recently removed from the Google Play Store and App Store for unknown reasons.

This list includes: Beauty Camera – Selfie Camera, Equalizer & Bass Booster, CamCard for SalesForce EntIsland 2: Ashes of Time Lite, Viva Video Editor, Tencent Xriver, Onmyoji Chess, Battle! Heian Road, AppLock, Dual Space Lite, etc. Let’s take a look at the entire list.

54 apps 2022 banned in India

please remember. This is the fifth time the Indian government has banned apps. In 2020, the government banned 59 apps, followed by 47, 118, and 43 more in the same year. This list includes popular titles such as TikTok, PUBG, UC Browser and Shein. Following this, many of these popular app choices came into the limelight. Krafton also introduced the popular Indian version of PUBG under the name Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Many of the aforementioned apps banned today are listed on the Google Play store. When Google removes them from the app store, it still remains unseen.
