There was a time when HTC was a famous brand in the smartphone field. However, the Taiwanese company saw its decline and shifted its focus to VR. Since then, we have only released low-end to mid-premium smartphones in some markets. This may change soon as HTC has hinted at the launch of New flagship Android smartphone with advanced VR features For the Metaverse.

At the ongoing MWC2022 event, HTC’s Asia Pacific General Manager Charles Huang said:Via DigiTimes AsiaThe company plans to bring a new high-end smartphone to the market in April.Huang didn’t provide an exact release date, but he added it Comes with certain VR features to help with the “Metaverse” feature..

HTC aims to cater to Metaverse enthusiasts with future high-end smartphones. Also, given the company’s past experience in the AR / VR industry and blockchain systems, we can expect to fulfill this promise. It’s interesting to see how HTC implements the features of smartphones (and with what features).

The advent of the new HTC phone could mean that the company is preparing to return to smartphone games dominated by Apple, Samsung, and various Chinese brands. It remains to be seen how HTC’s attempts will work in the market and whether its latest hype-led attempts will pay off.

Well, besides checking the VR function, HTC has not disclosed any information about future smartphones so far.. So I’m not sure about the processor, memory, or other specifications.
