How to create a gif from a live photo via the photo app
Most iPhone users can’t deny their love for live photography. However, although they represent moments, they are just one step away from becoming a GIF. Well, giving them repetitive effects does the trick.
Using the Photo app on your iPhone or iPad is one of the easiest ways to convert live photos to GIF.
Method is as follows.
- Open Photo iPhone or iPad app.
- Move to album..
- Tap Live photo under Media type..
- now, select Live photos you want to convert to GIF.
- Tap on the top left live → loop..

Create GIF on iPhone from shortcut app
If you didn’t know yet, creating GIFs from bursts, live photos and even videos is one way to use the Shortcuts app on your iPhone or iPad.

Then, in the next subsection, we’ll show you how to use the Shortcuts app to convert a burst photo, live photo, or video to GIF.
I. Create a GIF from Burst / Live Photo
To create a GIF from a burst or live photo on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open Shortcut App.
- Tap gallery It’s in the lower right.
- In the search bar, Convert burst to GIF..

Note: The converter converts only burst photos by default. So if you just want to change a burst photo to a GIF, you don’t need to. burst option Live photo As before.
II.Create a GIF from a video
Creating a GIF from a video is also easy. However, in this case, you need a shortcut that can convert the video to GIF instead. Second, videos are usually longer than live or burst photos, so shortcut converters may need to crop lines.

How to create a GIF from a video using a third party app (GIPHY)
You can also use the shortcut app to create a GIF from a video, but it can fail or be delayed. GIPHY is a handy third party app that you can use to instantly convert video to GIF. In addition, the app is free and easy to use. Indeed, it’s one of the best GIF maker apps for iPhone or iPad.
To get started, install GIPHY from the App Store and follow these steps:
- Open GIPHY App → Tap + Icon..
- choose Camera icon Choose video From your gallery.
Optional: Use the slider to crop the video. - Tap continue And hit Purple arrow icon It’s in the lower right.
- next, Share GIF..
- select Save GIF..
The new GIF will appear in the Photos app and can be shared in the social app..
