The days when desks were decorated with photo frames are over. Sadly, wireless chargers / docks have recently taken up that space. However, the Twelve South PowerPicmod provides a perfect stopover. It doubles as a convenient photo frame and wireless charger.

This novelty product sounds pretty interesting, but does it work seamlessly? Is it worth it? Check out the reviews to see if you choose or leave the PowerPic mod.

Charge your desk and phone with Twelve SouthPower Picmod

What features do you look for when looking for a wireless charger for your iPhone? Looks like it matches your desk / bedside, the power to energize your device, or the flexibility to charge multiple devices.

The 12 South PowerPic mod offers all of this and additional benefits. It also serves as a smooth and stylish photo frame.

design

Call me a 12 South fan girl, but I’ve never seen a badly designed product from the brand. And PowerPicmod is no exception. Everything from the high quality plastic used in the base to the acrylic wireless charging block is smooth and perfectly finished.

Very easy and fun!

The photo frame mechanism is also very smooth. Thanks to the magnet, just swipe / light pull to remove the Lucite frame. Simply insert your favorite photo / image (4×6) and stack the magnetic plates.

Interestingly, Frame also offers science lessons. When the same poles are put together, the frame repels rather than attracts. Just rotate the magnet to fit it correctly.

In particular, the top bar of the base has a rubber pad to prevent the cell phone from slipping. And because it’s rubber feet, the base won’t slip or damage the table.

utility

The PowerPic wireless charger uses the Qi charging method and emits up to 10W of power. 5W, 7.5W, and 10W charging is available, depending on the device.

Charge everything

The “frameless” design makes your photos look good, but it also serves an important purpose. You can use phones of all sizes, from iPhone SE (4.7) to iPhone 13 Pro Max (6.7) or other Android devices, even in cases up to 3mm thick.

You can also easily hold and charge your AirPods and other Qi-compatible earphones. The box has a built-in 5-foot USB-CC power cable, but no charging bricks (also not offered by Apple). Overall, you’ll need to buy or spare a 20-watt USB-C power adapter to run the show.

Welcome all orientations

Whether you prefer landscape or portrait mode, or whether the photo is a selfie or a family photo, PowerPic mod will meet all your needs. This flexibility makes it a convenient stand for hands-free viewing.

Value of money

The 12 South PowerPic mod looks great, works well and can be camouflaged as a photo frame. It’s also perfect for your desk, even if you don’t include a photo. So overall, this is a situation that benefits both sides.

However, it is available at a high price and there are no bricks for charging. And I really don’t know if I should complain about it, but it certainly doesn’t have MagSafe.

We also found that the frame of Lucite was easily scratched. And the images may cover them, but if they are held without images, they will not be visible.
